Recently released from a 5 year incarceration for assault the big question is, Where does the future lie for Washington's exciting, non-stop powerpuncher, David Travis.
I remember watching him on July 10 1998 stand toe to toe with the only kid who handed Travis a Knockout defeat Back in 97',and fought with so much heart and courage. Taking combo after combo, while doing whatever he could to stay on his feet and return the favor. The funny thing is that he did, Travis pulled off an amaizing that night by knocking out the 57-2 portland based brawler Michael Andrews at the Muckleshoot Casino. Travis entered the ring with a19-3 record.
The thing that takes a toll on me and the many others who had the privilage to watch him fight is he threw away an overwelmingly promising career for 5 years in a juvinile prison. The rumor is that he is out, but whether Travis wants to continue his God given talent remains a mystery. He went in July 1999 with a record of 23-3 (16ko's.
