Murungo Ano Penga Inc. / Murungo Gallery and our Zimbabwean partners (Murungo Imports) are dedicated to the promotion of fair and equitable trade with hundreds of artists from the tribes of Africa. Our focus is the inspirational sculptures originating from the Zimbabwean Shona People. Originating over 2,000 years ago, these remarkable vestiges of human spirit, captured forever in stone, came to world attention during the mid-1900s. Passed down from elder to youth, Shona Sculpture evolved gracefully through hundreds of generations. As an art form, it is part of the most prominent contemporary movement ever to emerge from the African continent.
