A child of Hollywood - An actress and a model, Oma Hamou differs from many of her colleagues in breadth of nature and full absence of a star. Having arrived in St. Petersburg, she has decided to stay at the hotel "Moscow", having refused to stay in the magnificent hotels "Europe" or the "Astoria" so that she could stare out her window at the Alexander Nevsky Lavra Monastery.

My next interview with Oma Hamou found her sitting alone in the posh Beverly Hills Peninsula hotel. She was looking very elegant, almost prim and studious -hunched over papers and notebooks that were spread out on a little table. She had on black rimmed glasses, hair pulled up; knee length, oatmeal-colored skirt; very sleek black long sleeved sweater; and a pair of knee high boots with a slight heel. As I got closer, Oma looked up and smiled. She gathered her things and removed her glasses and smiled. "I need glasses, especially at night when I drive. I am blind as a bat", Oma laughed as she sipped her water. Turns out I had caught her preparing a letter to President Putin. "It's always nerve racking trying to think of the right words to write to the President of any nation, even more so to His Holiness the Moscow Patriarch,??? Oma said. Oma reached in her brief case and handed me a small gift, a candle as a token of her appreciation for my understanding. I explained that I understood and that I also understood that Oma was a busy woman, a woman who has a crisp manner of business and purpose. A woman on a mission! I found Oma to be an open and a hardworking person. She is an undeniably a beautiful woman that remains both honest and true to herself, while managing to be accepted and embraced for her individuality. Oma has a strong personality - so strong people either love her or hate her. What is it about her that provokes such powerful feelings? "I don't know!" Oma said, shaking her head, "I don't know. And some people have never met me." Does it hurt her feelings? Oma paused for a moment, and then conceded, "It does, sometimes things that have happened in my life or what I've said are taken the wrong way and it's crazy to be misinterpreted and it bothers me,??? Oma pauses. ???But I just don't think about it a lot. I've learned that I have no control over people's perceptions of me."

September 5, 2005 will mark the 100th anniversary of the signing of a remarkable peace treaty negotiated in the United States at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which brought to an official end to the largest, bloodiest, and most costly war in the history of the world up to 1905. The peace process that ended the war between Japan and Russia was orchestrated by the President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt. His Majesty the Emperor of all the Russias Nikoli II was represented by his Excellency Sergei Witte, Secretary of State and President of the Committee of Ministers of the Empire of Russia. On the threshold of the country which had always been on friendly terms with Russia, Americans for the first time discovered that one of the highest dignitaries of the Russian Empire, the President of the Council of Ministers and the Ambassador Extraordinary of His Majesty himself, was a simple, accessible and amiable man who while in America treated the most humble citizen as his equal and reminded all that Russians were very much like Americans...In the city of Pushkin behind the Fedorovsky Cathedral there are five trees, these trees were planted by His Majesty Nikoli II and his children. Today, these trees stand tall, strong and beautiful. Trees are good symbols. You can't forget the past of a tree. It's in the roots, and if you lose the roots you lose the tree. But the nature of the tree is to always reach for tomorrow. It's in the branches.

Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests: it is my great honor to have this opportunity to be here to address ???Russia??

Category: Religion and Spirituality, Region: Europe

It is a pleasure and honor to be amongst such distinguished guests. Although I am not an expert in the field of technology we do share a common thread that links us together. All of us share the desire to strengthen ties between both Russia and America, especially in the private sector. A collaborative approach to this effort is critical to meet the challenges to community life in the 21st century. This approach combines courage, integrity, intelligence, creativity, energy and the ability to think outside of the box. Knowledge in particular, science and technology plays a critical role in promoting economic growth and social progress. In this diplomacy of goodwill, as President of Enigma Films and Chairman of The Sarskaia Foundation, I am proud of what my company has created. The social fabric of Russia is woven into a beautiful multi-colored tapestry that is rich in its heritage. Enigma is re-creating the milieu and events of an important chapter in Russian history, the reign of the last Russian Czar Nicholas II and his wife, Czarina Alexandra Feodorvna both literally??
